Explore the ins and outs of designing for machine quilting with Terri Watson, professional long-arm machine quilter and owner of ThreadTales Quiltworks, and Beth Ann Williams, local author, designer and Creative Director for Lakeshore Sewing. We'll give special attention to 'utility quilts' (primarily functional, e.g. quilts that will be regularly used & laundered) vs. “show quilts� (made primarily to be decorative, possibly with a competition or show in mind, or intended to be heirlooms) and short arm vs. mid-arm and long-arm machine techniques. Compare and contrast various ways to look at a given quilt top, generate ideas for possible quilting patterns to use, and determine the order in which to execute them. Lecture will include trunk show, handout, and open Q&A time.
